BODY TYPE IN THE MEDIA
“Body Type 2: More Typographic Tattoos” is Ina's latest volume of typographic tattoo documentation. It is the successor to “Body Type: Intimate Messages Etched in Flesh,” which has become a cult hit, especially amongst designers and type aficionados worldwide. “Body Type” has been cited in many design, typography and popular culture blogs; Ina receives fan mail and photos from all corners of the globe, from places as far-flung as Tasmania and Paraguay. There have been “Body Type” sightings in far-flung international bookstores, in museum shops (including MoMA and the Metropolitan Museum of Art), specialty bookstores (including Rizzoli) and national booksellers. Urban Outfitters carried “Body Type” it in their 100 locations nationwide (it sold out). You will find "Body Type 2" at Urban Outfitters, too.
Ina has been interviewed on Access Hollywood, Fox News and CBS News, among others.
“Body Type” has been recognized by the New York Public Library and the American Library Association, which both recommend it for young adult readers. Ina has had two solo shows of her photography from “Body Type,” accompanied by newspaper and magazine publicity. Download her article in Inked Magazine and her interview in Slanted Magazine, a German typography magazine. The Brazilian typography magazine "Tupigrafia" published a feature story on "Body Type."
Ina has made many presentations of her documentation of typographic tattoos, even as far away as Moscow (see EVENTS below). Ina judged a tattoo competition at the Inkslinger's Ball in Hollywood, and the story of her involvement in the world of tattoos will be published in a forthcoming book about the history of tattooing in New York.
